how fast did the 799 coupe run?

Glen, I heard that there was a shift issue and the car went from 1st to reverse.
I'll find out more tomorrow and post.

Gregg

Indeed, there was a transmission issue coming off the push truck yesterday.
They tried to make a run today and lost a transmission just before 1/2 track.
That thing is evil wicked looking coming down the track and I absolutely LOVE it!

I don't know who is doing the announcing but I think they're doing a great job.  Wayno

I'll second that. The broadcast quality has been excellent this weekend. Thanks to all involved, especially Gregg who's made sure it all happened.

Pete

The announcer is Brian Lohnes. He is also 1/2 owner of BangShift.com and this came from their about us page:

Along with his duties here at BangShift, Lohnes is an active motorsports announcer who can be found at ECTA land speed meets in Wilmington, Ohio, New England Dragway in Epping, New Hampshire along multifaceted events like LS Fest and Goodguys autocrosses, Hot Rod Magazine Drag Week, the Diesel Power Challenge, and he’s a member of the announcing staff on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series tour. Brian’s name can be occasionally found in the pages of magazines like Hot Rod, Popular Hot Rodding, and others.

Pretty good pedigree and he's a REALLY nice guy also!!!!! Glad to see him much more involved with the ECTA.

As for the quality of audio this weekend, I had the pleasure of the company of Chris Conrad who is the audio expert par excellence.....Many thanks Chris!

Joe Timney, I see you're looking at this and I just want to say it was strange not seeing you and Donna at this meet.
I think I can speak for others in saying you folks are missed.
Good luck with future endeavors and look forward to seeing you guys in the future.

Gregg

PS
Tell Donna I said hello!

Today's audio stream was archived on the Meridix server.

To listen, go to the regular link:
http://www.meridix.com/everywhere.php?liveid=Landracing
and look on the right side of the screen for Wilmington 05032015 Archived.

Gregg

Was Saturdays Audio archived also?  Is it possible to copy a small portion to insert into my video clips?

Yes, Saturday's stream was also archived Ralph.
Just follow the link and look on the right side and you will see both 05022015 and 05032013.
I can't help you on copying part of it but I assume you could.

Mike Matty explained that you are slammed at the shop and couldn't make it.
Glad you got your fix with the audio stream. I'll be doing it again next month so if you don't make it the audio will be there for you.
My wife and I will be headed up to Loring in July so I'll probably stop by on the way home.

You and Donna take care,
Gregg

The 799 in tech inspection didn't have the body off so I don't know much about it and it is a new car here!
If they are at the June meet, I'll get as much info as I can.

Too bad the SCTA won't work with Bang Shift Chad & Brian so we could have a good announcing crew on the salt since the "replacement" of Glen Barrett at Bonneville SpeedWeek.
 :dhorse:

Brian & Chad understand the sport and do the research needed to entertain & keep you informed, and do it well.

Good Job at Ohio Brian   :-)

I've got it on good authority that the SpeedWeek announcing crew will be pretty good this year -- two announcers at a time, two pairs of announcers.  I don't know much about the others, but do know that one of the teams has quite an extensive pedigree at Bonneville.  I'll say no more 'til SCTA tells me that it's okay to release the information.

I'll make this a separate post so it doesn't get lost in the crush of thank yous for the audio that Gregg did so admirably (albeit with Chris's help, I presume).

Yep - he did a fine job of setting up and running the equipment - but this here website paid the $$ for the wi-fi hotspot that we now carry with us to events that'll be streamed and also we have to pay for the amount of bandwidth used.  With ECTA running for the best part of 12 hours one day and 'til out of race vehicles the next -- it runs up a bill that's gotta be paid one way or another.  And that, dear readers, is why I'm on here again begging some $$ contributions from you.  I asked for some a few days before the event -- and got 0 response.  I sure hope that some of you enjoyed the stream enough to send a few $$ to the Paypal account or in an envelope to 509 Dukes road, Skandia Michigan 49885.  Your help will be appreciated by one and all -- 'cause it'll allow us to continue streaming audio from trackside.

Thanks -- I sure hope.
