Live Audio from Wilmington this Weekend
« on: April 29, 2015, 08:19:28 AM »
Click on the link below and then click Listen Live on the Meridix screen:

http://www.meridix.com/everywhere.php?liveid=Landracing

Like the past meets, broadcasting will begin after the drivers meeting on Saturday and then around 8:30 AM Sunday.

===================================================================================

UPDATES:
1. I had issues with the FM receiver I used at last years September meet so a new replacement was purchased and has tested good.
2. I have been testing video with a new web camera and plan to bring it online Saturday.....We'll see (pun intended!!!!!)....LOL!
3. Last year, we had a request for a time stamp so a talking clock, that announces the hour on the hour, was purchased. I will
manually push the time announce button as soon as I start the audio stream and then the clock will automatically announce on
    the hour.

As usual, my thanks to the ECTA for allowing us to do this, Jon for supplying the Wi-Fi hotspot/Meridix software and Chris for getting the audio equipment together!

If you have any thoughts, suggestions or comments, please post them here! As we have said before, this is a continuing experiment.

I hope you enjoy,
Gregg

Thanks Gregg.
Life has gotten in the way of my racing for now. I will live vicariously through my friends.

Gregg's spent a huge amount of time working on the system, and the audio feed has gotten steadily better and more reliable.  It's a tireless effort on his part, and he deserves a salute.

I'm bringing a set of headphones and a few extra pieces in my "Oh S#!t" kit.  We're coming loaded for bear.

I'm expecting the cleanest audio webcast landracing.com has ever done.

Meridix has some limitations, but I think we can take this from, "Hey, that's really good" to being able to almost smell the nitro.

And I'm looking forward to Gregg's video feed as well, and learning that end of it.

See you there!

Since my shop is pure FAFS (First Available Flat Surface) I shall endeavor to find a place for my laptop in the shop.  Wayno

Audio tested good this afternoon so we are good to go with that.
I tested video but unfortunately the Verizon hotspot does not have enough upload speed and it is VERY choppy.
I am not going to do video for this meet and will see if I can do come up with something differently for June.

As posted above, the audio stream will begin after the drivers meeting.....around 9:00 AM

Hope you enjoy,
Gregg

Eastern time zone.

The start will be early for you but remember that the stream goes to 6:00 PM EST both Sat and Sun.
Plenty of time to listen!!!!!

Especially for Gregg, but all might as well read this:

I was supposed to put a link right on the home page of the site this morning -- so everyone would have an easy time finding the audio stream.  Well - it looks like I won't be doing it -- 'cause the frickin' control panel keeps rejecting the login  stuff.  I've tried all combinations from the memory here, from my head, even from the notebook of such words.

Worse - normally I'd just send a note to Bob and ask him to figure out why I can't get in -- but he's gone camping/trials riding on the the high lonesome this weekend and therefore ain't gonna be online.

So until I've come up with the right stuff -- I'm sorry to say that there won't be said link right on the home page screen.  I'm sorry - and maybe I'll figure it out in a little while when I try again.  I'd keep hitting on it right now -- but since nothing is working I think I hear Nancy calling from the bedroom.  I gues I'd best go see what she wants on a fine Saturday morning. grin cheers rolleyes evil

Great job on the audio. It sounds great. Feeding the need to know, out here in Napa, CA.
