Hayabusa Lakester For Sale or Trade
« on: March 10, 2015, 01:31:21 PM »
The Pepperoni Bros. are in a bit of an ergonomic pickle, after a few months of trying, Brother Steve cannot get in the drivers seat and he is our designated driver. When we first checked out the car I hopped right in but he did have some trouble, we didn't think it was a big issue, especially with the adjustable seat bottom and pedal assembly. Now, it is apparent that we have an unworkable situation and the best solution would be to find a car with a more upright seat. Also, truth be told, this is probably a little too much car for us.
 For Sale or Trade:
Like new H/G Lakester, 1485cc Suzuki Hayabusa w/204 rwhp, IRS, coilovers, built to the highest standards with the best materials by Richard Chapman, his son, who built the engines for the ACK ATTACK streamliner, did the motor. Comes with spares, tooling, custom chute and more, call or email for more details and pictures, $22,500 or trade for a stout short course or 150 club car, Steve likes C-6 Corvettes.

Yeah, Tom -- if your DD didn't fit -- was it because he was too wide or too tall?  I'm about as narrow as they come, but somehow I don't know if all 75" or whatever of me would be able to fold into the car.  Or maybe the new driver will have to be triple-jointed so he/she can make a few extra folds.

Steve and I are about the same height and weight 5'9" and 180lbs. but built completely different, he has a long torso that doesn't seem to bend much in the middle. Many different sized people have sat in the car without a problem, the cockpit is roomy, the seat bottom adjustable for drivers of different heights and the pedal assembly has at least 2-3" of travel if not more.

Maybe the South African ex F2 driver at 5'7" would fit. I'd drive for you for food and a dry sleeping area.

Well, I had constraints dictated by a production based design, but here's how I look at it -

I'm only driving 3 miles.

If I had to do 25 laps at Road America, okay, I'll take the padded seat and the taller roll cage.

But at Bonneville, you're driving in a straight line for two minutes.

I suck it up, with the understanding that the faster I go, the sooner I get to get out.  And as I get older, and a little more rickety, that's a strong incentive to go faster.

Tom, Fred is acting like he might be nibbling at your bait.  Go get 'im -- he's had enough fun on two wheels and oughta try four, right?
