Counterfeit HANS devices
« on: February 06, 2015, 05:23:42 PM »
I got this note from Lee Kennedy today:

It has come to our attention through our membership in SFI that counterfeit HANS devices have entered the market. See attached links:
http://sfifoundation.com/important-notice-regarding-counterfeit-product/
http://sfifoundation.com/wp-content/pdfs/Notice2-4-15.pdf).
Would it be possible for you to post a notice to this effect on your site for the benefit of the racers so that they do not accidentally purchase these devices or if they are in position of a counterfeit device they would need to know that:
These devices are untested and the competitors’ safety may be compromised
We will be looking for these devices at our event inspections and the competitor will not be allowed to use them at our events

You can direct any questions that the competitors have to me via my contact information or via any post that you may want to start on the subject.

Thank you in advance for your continued help and support of our LSR community and please contact me with any questions that you might have.

Lee, I just bought a bunch of tubing to bring my car up to current specs. Seller told me it was made in China. Is that going to disqualify me from running? I'm thinking those counterfeits are probably suitable for classes with a record under 125. I ran 134 at WOS in my work truck.  :-)

Better to contact Lee directly. I don't think he participates on this message board.
