Fire Sleeve in PP classes
« on: January 29, 2015, 11:36:16 AM »
The rules state that the fuel line needs to have a fire sleeve over them or made with something that is flame resistant.
I run a Hayabusa in the P/P class and have fire sleeved the stock fuel line no biggee.
My question deals with the fuel rail and injectors which is made out of plastic same as the fuel line.
To be able to meet the intent of the safety rules I'd have to change the fuel rail to a metal rail and I don't know if they make aftermarket injectors that have an all metal body. Which involves changing to an external fuel pump etc.
By making these changes it then makes me illegal for the P/P class.

Thoughts, comments?

Thank you,
Mike

I think it is the fuel line that they are really worried about.  I have not seen them having issues with the stock injectors even if they are plastic.

But I would suggest you get with Drew Gatewood about it just to be sure.  He goes by AHG on this forum
