"New" style Charlie Toy tail section
« on: January 13, 2015, 06:01:56 PM »
Okay - maybe I'll get a new Charlie Toy tail* for the good ol' Ice Breaker bike.  I've seen enough that I figure they're commercially available -- but a quick scan through Kent Riches' site didn't show one (it was, after all, a quick scan).  If you know the part -- wouldya please let me know where you got yours?  That is, if not AirTech -- where?  If AirTech -- tell me so I can get in touch with Kent.

Thanks.  The bike isn't all done racing, I think - I hope. . .

*That is, the tail that follows the new rules about 10" behind the tire and 4" above the ground.

Thanks.  I know his number -- was hoping to get some information from users before I call Kent.

Jon,
On the airtech-streamlining site there is mention and some pics of the Charlie Toy body. http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/landspeed/landspeed.htm

I don't know if there is a new tail, but there is a new "B" model Hayabusa fairing on the same page that is new.

Looked at all the options before deciding to build our own.  we had a smaller budget.

That photo was from '03 when Nancy and I made our one and only trip to El Mirage - after visiting Kent to get the new fairing.  The fairing has since been painted, of course, and a bit of modification done to the seating area.  I most recently ran the bike in A/PS in '13.  I'd like to try the new tailpice and see what difference it makes - all other things being the same.

I saw the various 'Busa new bits -- and was hoping there'd be one purpose made for my ZX12, and that's what I was hoping one of you folks would find for me.

I guess it's back to the easy way -- call Airtech and talk with them.  Thanks, all.
