Mohave Mile - Who's going??
« on: October 29, 2014, 08:29:55 PM »
The Mohave mile in April looks interesting to me.  Only 2700' above sea level and paved. . .

I'm gonna have to investigate this one more and see if I can work it out.  Is there anyone else who plans on going in their VW??

I need to make an event in the spring.  I was looking at this or an El Mirage.  For those who have been to Mojave. How many runs can you get in?

Our team has been kicking the April Mojave Magnum around. The Passat has repeatedly exceeded 210 by the 2nd mile at B'ville. With Goodyear slicks and concrete, it should crack 220 mph or so in 1.5. Stay tuned...

Mojave is a ball and by the second day you can make laps as they are begging for the staging lines to fill. Planning on being there with my bike
Bonneville 2001,2002,2003,2004,and NO stinking 2005,DLRA 2006, next?
Well, sure can't complain about 2008--6 records over 200 and 5 hats from Bonneville,Bubs, and El Mirage for the team!

As of a few of weeks ago Nate there were 4 VW Ghias pre-entered. I have heard MM may be sold out but it would be good to check with Mike at the Mojave Mile and find out the facts. Hopefully you, Mark and the Potter crew can make it. Sadly Dean Kirsten from Hot VW's just contacted me an hour ago to let me know he will not be at MM as originally planned. Tom Bruch and I will be there to cover the event and capture some photos.

This year I don't have the right $tuff to make the trip to Mojave.  I'm going to just concentrate on WOS 2015 and dialing in the car's suspension at local auto-X events.

Best of luck to all who make the mile!!
