Wasn't it turn 9?

Not unless you were making a return run.
Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.

I see what you are talking about. I never saw a drag race at Riverside, only Can- Am races.

Bet you would get a few more entries if you would go ahead and award records for the 1 mile, even if people beat them on the 1/2.  I am sure the 1/2 mile format will bring some new people, but at the expense of many people who wanted to run the mile or run for a record.  I have bikes I would like to preview for Bonneville, but am tempted to go to Texas instead.  From a marketing standpoint when you have low numbers than it hardly makes sense to offer even less and hope more people show up.  Most street squids are happy just to go to the drag strip and prove their manliness there - a half mile might be too daunting for them, especially the safety requirements.

Bottom line - either time the runs and offer records, or go back to the 1 mile course.  Even a split schedule of 1/2 mile on Saturday and mile on Sunday might be good.

I've been wanting to go to the July to meet since the first one. This year I have the opportunity to be there.

the half-mile would be fine, something different.

But no records ?  How do you compare apples to apples ?
With so many busas and zx's running .  and so many four wheelers in the same classes.

July being the least attended event of Wilmington, the lines should be short with a mile event ,anyway.

it sounds like there's going to be a lot of texans driving right by the track , not going in .
