Hunting down Ducati SuperSport Racers from 2013
« on: October 31, 2014, 11:41:08 AM »
Trying to hunt down the gentlemen who brought down 750 and 900 SuperSports from up North.  They may had a nice big decorated hauler and may have been from Quebec.  My reason for looking for them is they either made, or had made for them, some real nice custom single side swingarms on those bikes.  We have a custom build going on at DucPond and the swingarm the customer had made is bad so we were chatting about options and I remembered these guys.

I took pictures but can't find any of my 2013 photos. Pretty sure they had fun and set an open record but did not return as they were up against 749s and 996s in those classes.

Not sure but it could be MacDuc with David Smith #4311 having a MPS/TF 1000 record at 133 mph in 2013.

If anyone has additional clues please let me know.

You might want to check with the guys from Bellview, Washington Ducati.  http://www.teamhyperliner.com/

Thanks,  Will be following their progress but this is more of a quest for a classic custom swingarm vs a land speed build.  The other land speed Ducati I am familiar with is the stretched Monster that ran at BUB last year.  I am pretty sure they stretched the frame forward vs the swingarm though.  The guys from up north had really nice extended tube style swingarms.

The custom built stretched singlesided swingarm you are thinking about is on Domenic Ferlisi's bike out of Monteal -- he has run BUB in the past.

Picture:

Contact for Domenic via FB: http://www.facebook.com/domenic.ferlisi.1

There are three groups in the Washington area with Ducati's.  #1) Team Hyperliner (Dave is the engine guy out of Bellevue Ducati) but I have the motorcycles/projects/fabrication down here in Gilbert, Arizona in my shops.  On the Ducati.VPR I have a stretched 696 Monster swingarm extended and bearing configuration swap to fit a Ducati SBK engine/frame assembly;  #2)  Super Rat Racing out of Bellingham, WA (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Super-Rat-Racing) who are at BUB regularly;  #3) Nick ? out of the Bellevue Eastside area who was at the USFRA events this year.

Other Ducati groups I'm aware of are: The Bonneville Project guys / Wisconsin (http://bonnevilleproject.wordpress.com) and Stuart / crew at http://www.facebook.com/TeamUnorthodux out of Albuquerque and Tucson, AZ.

Thanks Superleggera.  That was the one.  A lot more Ducati LSR fans out west.  May have to move to the Tri-cities in WA in a few years like I have been considering.
