Bill Wayne
« on: October 30, 2014, 03:41:28 PM »
Wanted to let the land racing community know that a long time member of the USFRA, Mr. Bill Wayne passed away on October 28th.  Bill was the chief timer for the 130/150 course for many years.  This year we asked him to take on the extra responsibility of using the 130/150 track as a short course as well.  He took on the added work and did so without a complaint.  We could tell by spending time with him that he was not up to 100%, but he carried on as though nothing was wrong.
We will miss Bill and his contributions to the USFRA as well as landracing as a hobby.  His spouse Charlotte has been very involved with helping on the salt, she works the sales trailer along with whatever else is needed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her and the family.

I'm pretty certain I received my first timing slip from Bill at WOS on the 130 course - a dismal run of about 22 miles per hours in an unsorted car.

I still have it - it's framed.

Godspeed, Bill, and my condolences to his family.

Well, I guess we're making a LOT of progress . . .

Very sad news.

I talked to Bill at WoS...and he didn't look well....had no idea that his health issue was so serious....

Big lost for all of us...he will be missed...R.I.P.
