Yes, Drew, my husband is finally back on schedule after 2.5 months playing catch-up with farm chores and mishaps (HAD to replace the garage door opener, yesterday), you should have heard him griping about how one job turns into six jobs, "when will I ever get to THE bike?" (as we have many MC's "THE" means SALT BIKE rather, 1972, R5 Yamaha), since he put in a new LED shop light.  Now, having already removed all external salt, he can look into the inner hiding places (carburetors, etc.).  I am looking forward to next year!  Hope we get the whole week in with out weather issues.  See you on the salt!   'Great Granny' Sandy,  Vetter Velocity.

13.2 hours on the drivetrain ......

About 60% throttle you have 15 # of boost and you can almost see smoke in the rear view mirrors...

First freeway ride. 65 miles North on the 405 and the 5 .....4th gear for a few minutes ....

FREEDOM is great, that and a shot of Adrenaline .....

Ray,
You're really quite the optimist looking forward to the year "2105".  :-D
In another 91 years there will probably be a hovercraft class.
Until then we will get our excitement from blown 4 cycle internal combustion.  :-D

In 2014 I made my first 2 runs on the salt to get the open 1350 P-PS record.  When I got home I found #3 cylinder was scored pretty bad.  When I pulled the cylinder, #3 piston was smeared and the second ring stuck in the piston groove.  #1 also had the second ring suck but no scoring / smearing.  I think the cast pistons did not like the 45 seconds on WOT boost, the top ring had actually pushed the ring land below it down to pinch the second ring.  Back together with a clean up hone and some old stock pistons.  Put some drag race gearing on it for some fun on the street before the snow hits.  I will wait for January to start on 2015 plans.

Pretty sure your record is in 1350 P-PB.  No such class as P-PS.

End gap was .026" to .030 "  with new uncut rings in worn and honed out bores.   And yes the class was 1350 P-PB

Bikes can be set up to run blown motors reliably with forged pistons of the correct alloy with proper ring end gaps and skirt to cylinder clearances.
