Gotta agree with you Woody  -  Here is a short video S&S put out recently - Bonneville IS a truly special place on this planet, as well as the unique people who hold it as one of their passions.

The S and S team has depth of talent.  There are a lot of combined years of experience in that group.  The yellow partial stream liner in the background during the first part of the movie is Tom's (Konkretekid's) BSA.

Bo,
The real thrill is to make a slow bike go fast!  You and I are doing just that.  If all we wanted to do was go fast, we could just go buy a crotch rocket.

Don't worry, Tom, I have a plan.  The Triumph will make another shot at that record in a few years.  The problem is that record is in the highly competitive 1000cc class and the dang thing keeps getting faster every year.

Here is another article about the Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials that just came out online in Sportsnet magazine.  It was written about Ted Hector and his 1948 Harley partial streamliner, but a few other Canadian competitors were mentioned, as well.  Yours truly even got his picture with a few kind words!

P.S. My bike was NOT designed by a yacht builder, but I guess the writers take "poetic license" to make their stories more interesting, at least in their opinion!
