A big thank you for all you have done for the Land Speed Racing community. I hope you get a chance to do everything you have had to put aside for all these years and I look forward to seeing you guys out there as racers and/or spectators down the road.

For our friends who may not have heard the news, I posted this in the Picture Thread Saturday:
Surprising news at the drivers meeting this morning. Donna and Joe Timney are retiring from the ECTA and Brian Lohnes (announcer here and 1/2 owner of Bangshift.com) and his wife Carrie (I think that's right) are assuming their positions!

Ah, yes -- it's time to enjoy the fruits of your labors even more. Nancy and I were there when the three of you took over the reins, and when you, Joe, introduced us to Donna, and so on. We watched some of the hard work you put in to help the ECTA grow - and enjoyed many of the benefits of that work.
Corngratulations on being ready to accept the fact that it's time to let the baby - ECTA, that is - stand on its own feet without you. Best wishes to Tonya and Keith and Brian and his wife (Carrie, right?) - and especially good wishes to you two. Enjoy it.

Donna and Joe. We've leaned on you both over the last several years. The loan of a 20 suit to Ben and Brian got the Geezers started. Best wishes from all of us - you made it work!!
