SpeedWeek at 2014 World Finals
« on: August 29, 2014, 09:36:00 AM »
Just got my Straight-Away Newsletter and the pre-registration for World Finals.
Pre-registration due by September 15th.
Forms available on the SCTA website.

I would have expected the opportunity to transfer my SpeedWeek entry to the event by paying either the course prep or the non-refundable portion of the entry.
The SCTA site says more info to follow... hope that becomes an option

See you on the salt  8-)

I think I read that they thought was easier to refund everybody and have them re-enter WF than try to figure who's coming, who's not and just refund the appropriate etc. Think was an accounting decision.

I was just informed by JoAnn Carlson that refund checks are in the mail. That must've been a fun task. -Dean

Just talked to JoAnn, said refund check was coming and I needed to send an entry for WF... rats, got to fill out another form.... oh well, that will be a lot easier than cutting 500 refund checks, sounded like she was a little busy.

My refund just came.  It's cashed and sent off to the person who bought the pre-reg from me.

Can't make it Joe, Speed Week was my one chance to trailer out to the salt this year.  Good luck, is your 1000 bike ready? -Dean

JoAnn just reminded me that this coming Monday is the deadline for entering for the WF/SW event.  She's received about 110 entries - and expects that number will about double in time for the event.  Get your entries in now.  We've got some good salt out here.

I don't like the path Hurricane Odile is projected to take.  JC

I'll remind all that today is the end of pre-registration for WF/SW '14.  If you're tardy and haven't mailed your entry yet -- or even if you've mailed it but just last weekend or something -- I'd suggest that you call the SCTA office and tell JoAnn that it's on the way.  She needs to know so all can have a fairly accurate estimate of who - and how many - to expect.

Hi Everyone,
On the SCTA web site they say the salt will be open Thursday the 26th. The 26th is Friday so does anyone know if we can get on the Salt Thursday or Friday? I have 1601 miles to drive and trying to decide when to leave. I don't want to get to Wendover and sit in a hotel parking lot and sit and wait been there done that :-)
