So a few days ago I sent Bob (web elf Bob) a note about the hassles youse guys are having with the chat line. Here's what he said back to me after researching:
"I contacted 1and1, they didn't have any chat or recommendations, but I did find one that recommended 1and1 as a host, so it should be compatible. I'll check that one out. It's a case where you buy the software, another option is to have someone else host it for a few bucks a month.

1and1 is the host for this entire website and Forum. If things continue to work well (as PJ just reported) and not be ugly (as Glen mentioned earlier today) we'll stick it out. If it all goes to he** in a handbasket -- let me know and we'll opt for another chat room source program.
