I think you will find that shade isn't near as important at WF.  Been there and to WOS where you didn't really need any.  Average high temp then (end of Sept.) is about 70 deg. and lows are about 45 deg..  The sun is a lot lower in the sky and the days quite a bit shorter,

I'm told the historic occurrence of World Finals is about 1 out of 3.  Place your bets.

I've asked a handful of times about WF being cancelled because of the weather - and usually get the response that there are no written records of that.  I also, though, have been told by a bunch of folks that it seems like about half the time there's a rainout or a snowout or cold weatherout or some reason for WF to be cancelled.

Stan says 1 out of 3, I say half and half.  Any other comments?

A board member told me 1 outta 3.  I thought 1 outta 2.

When it's good -- it's real good in my experience.  I got in the 2-Club in 2003 -- shirtsleeve weather.

The way I look at it is 50% chance of racing followed by 50% chance of beer drinking. Or some years it's 100% chance of beer drinking followed by another year.  :-D

As much as it hurt to miss SpeedWeek, it was sure great to see old friends.  Don't think I could get many of them to get together out in the middle of nowhere just to BS, though.

Every member of your roadster club was there, so you did manage something.
