Tech inspection at WoS
« on: August 06, 2014, 11:20:23 PM »
I'm wondering if tech inspection opens before the race dates like speedweek?
Thanks
Dan

I looked through the USFRA site and didn't find the date for inspection, so we can assume that it's the 5nd, but just in case I'm going to email and ask for a clarification.  I'll letcha all know.

I sent an e-mailto usfra@saltflats.com. "Inspection is planned to start on the 4th" Ellen Wilkinson.  I also asked if racing will then start on the 5th or still start on the 6th.  She said that they don't know yet,  Depending on entries, they should know more by this weekend.

Thanks for this!!!!!
And not to doubt your wickedusefulinfo, can someone confirm it?
(didn't someone once say, "trust but verify"???)

I made 3 hotel reservations before ww told us this and now i might need change em.
USFRA does a GREAT job, and it would be even better if they deseminated info like "tech date" on their web site.
Or maybe they do and i'm such an idiot, i couldn't find it.
karl

BTW:  as per Monte's advice i will wait till USFRA does an inspection this weekend and perhaps says something

When is rookie orientation for the 130/150 typically held?

Rookie Orientation is always immediately after the full driver's meeting, the first morning of the event.  Should it be needed the 130Club and 150Club orientation can also be held the morning of the second day of racing if there are enough first timers to warrant the additional instruction.  Make sure you know what you are doing on the salt to eliminate delays for all the racers.  We lose more time from racers not clearing the course at the end of their runs than from all other causes combined.
