Zink Z5 Formula Vee
« on: August 10, 2014, 07:16:47 PM »
Up for grabs is what I belive to be a 1965 Zink Z-5. Includes a complete body with 2 different engine covers. I had intentions of doing the required work to make it meet ECTA/LTA rules and run it with the VW challenge. However, I am much happier racing a bike, thus this is up for grabs. It is basically the way I bought it. Previous owner was going to autocross it.

Fresh 1641cc dual port engine, never fired. Have all build specs
New rear coil over shocks, new front shocks
All new stainless braided brake lines, all new shoes, wheel cylinders and hardware
Brand new bugpack mid engine exhaust
Complete AN hardware
Brand new XS power AGM battery.
New willwood master cylinders with balance bar
Oil temp, oil pressure and tach

Needs to be finished up. A lot is done. Needs the brakes bled, one longer brake hose, battery installed, seat finshed up and installed, needs belts, exhaust needs to be installed. Will need a fuel cell or work on the current cell. Several options there.

About all a person would need to buy is tires and paint of there choice. Lots of extra parts to go with.

Will send more pictures to seriously interested parties

$1600 or will trade. I like motorcycles, shop equipment, etc. Located in Caribou, ME. I can bring to a dock to help with shipping

Seems like a hell of a bargain to me, the engine's gotta be worth that but I think you might be advertising in the wrong place. Is there a Formula V forum?

I'll take it. Please send me a name and address and I'll get a money order out to you!

Thank you!

Buddy

Rex, I'm looking forward to it! Do they still race these in California that you know of?

Don't know -- but you can always show up and block your way to another Road Runner "road course" victory.  They're still smarting.

Glam and tortoise- thanks!

Anyone coming south from Maine, to Ohio or the salt, that might possibly be able to bring the car down with them?
