Since speedweek is canceled we got to looking at our next options. Can Bonneville records be set at world of speed and world finals?  Is it the same fashion with make a qualifying run one day and then back it up the next morning?

Yes -- records can be set at any SCTA or USFRA event out here.  Same rules, same rulebook, etc.  As for the rujns/return runs schedule -- again, same deal - although at the end of the week (or during threatening bad weather the next day) return runs are sometimes made the same day.  But then, that happens at SpeedWeek, too.

You will not receive a timing tag or record certificate from the SCTA/BNI when setting a record at World of Speed, Only their sanctioned events. Your listed record entry will be in the rule book and if qualified the driver will be welcomed into the 200 MPH Club. The USFRA may have other awards. Good Luck...

JD is correct -- you won't get the SCTA/BNI memorabilia like the trophy or timing tag, but USFRA does award trophies or plaques - we've got a bunch of each on our "racing" wall.  And one thing they do at WoS is give an award for the "Fastest Lady of the Meet" trophy that's a true knockout.  Nancy (my wife) won it in '09 as the first woman to get the trophy while riding a bike.  It's worth seeing if you can find one - 3D laser engraved (all of this buried in clear glass) photo of racer, racer and vehicle, engraving of the timing slip, etc.  Put a lady in your car and have at it!

Take a look at the listed records in your rule book. You will see a date such as 08/12, 09/08 or 10/11. This relates to the event the record was set, 08/12 would be Speed Week 2012, 09/08 would be World of Speed 2008 and 10/11 would be World Finals 2011.

Good luck,
