Advice for room hunting please
« on: July 31, 2014, 05:44:35 PM »
Hi - I fly into SLC from the UK on Aug 9th so will arrive at Wendover on the 10th. I'm not expecting to find anywhere to stay in Wendover and I don't want to waste time looking for somewhere when I could be out on the salt. I'll need 3 nights - Aug 10/11/12th
Can anyone recommend anywhere on the way from SLC to Wendover? There don't appear to be too many towns on that road, though!

Thanks

As I've mentioned here in the past, you can get in line at the front desks at one of the larger hotels in Wendover.  They have many cancellations daily, and I've never spent more than 45 mins. getting in line again before they have something available.  Should work for you too!

For you or anyone else;
sometimes Mr Singh at The Knight's Inn can be flexible.
He has worked with me in the past, but then, I've been a pretty steady customer over the past few years.

Give him a call at 435 665 7744.

There may be a lot of cancellations.

There will be many rooms if they cancel the meet

Wait 2 1/2 hours to find out.

You may be staying at home.

Freud,  Your Facebook picture does not do you justice.  I hope you didn't serve that cake to your gusts.  :cheers:  Tony

The Bonneville Bullett Race Team just announced on Facebook that they have three rooms booked that they're not going to use (computer problems with their bike), and that the hotel (they didn't say which) will transfer them to someone else who can pay for them. Don't know the guy's name, or any contact info other than his FB page, but if someone here needs rooms and replies to this, I'll try to contact them for you...

I'd call Motel 6 Wendover. (435) 665-2267

This place is about 1/4 full and there is no line

waiting.  Call and secure a room.

Bring your umbrella and canoe.
