But at 300mph do you want to be in a 10 ft. long box or a 22.5 ft. one?

As long as I avoid the box 6 feet deep I'm still learning and shooting for that 300mph.

I too am having a problem seeing how a short fat liner could out perform a skinny one. Anybody have any pics of a "short" Ron Ayres design?
  Sid.

I think most would agree that longer is more stable. Costella's designs combine short fat parts at the ends with a long VERY skinny part in the middle, but what does he know?

A FWD shorty is a whole different animal to a RWD shorty, like the difference in pushing a piece of string into a bottle or pulling it back out.

Just look how stable the AA/FA cars were. A.K.A. "Wild Willie Borscht".

The Summers brothers "pollywog" was the first great FWD streamliner; it reportedly didn't handle that well, but had a bunch of kingpin offset, which with a bit of slack in the steering would tend to dart a bit. Beautiful car; I heard someone was rebuilding it. Any news about that?

No worries Mate, I hope my terminology wasn't too technical for the masses. :-D
Had I built a smaller horsepower 2WD liner I would have gone FWD.
