SPEEDWEEK JAM
« on: July 30, 2014, 01:14:36 PM »
Just curious, are there any musicians that attend SW and would consider getting together for an informal jam session? I know that there's got to be some players out there. A great way to get together, kick out the jams and clear your head. I'd like to hear me some! Your thoughts??

Once upon a time we had a band offer entertainment at Salt Talks. It went over very well, for sure.  It didn't include racers/crew/spectators playing their own instruments, but still - the music was appreciated.  Keeping that in mind -- hey, do you want to stage this jam session at the Salt Talks picnic Sunday afternoon?  See me for more information.

I don't know, I had this vision of a bunch of people gathered around a hotel swimming pool after a day of racing just jammin' and drinkin' and whatever. Just a crazy idea rolling around in my head. I know most if not all the hotels on the Utah side are occupied by racers and such and I'm sure the management could be persuaded to allow a little noise.

Nope - just guitar players and harp players.

I'll put the Les Paul on the packing list - maybe a musician might show up and want to play it.

Guitars and harps and an old phone book (  :-o ) or bucket to keep time on and we got us a jam!

I'm bringing a vintage comb and some recycled paper....

Ya know, we might just get lucky.

Pizza boxes have always made a decent snare for brushes in my experience.
