2014 Cook's Bonneville Shootout
« on: July 15, 2014, 08:05:23 PM »
The 2014 Shootout Dates are September 12-16. Here is the link to the latest update of 2014 Shootout competitors. Racers listed here have returned their letter of intent and a deposit for their 2014 entry. There are currently eleven streamliners, three of them motorcycles and one electric, plus one sit-down bike and one snowmobile. We still have several slots available so check in soon if you want to race. Check our web site at landspeedevents.com, our facebook page and this thread regularly for updates. _John Baechtel

Disappointed not to see Richard Brown's Jet Reaction on the list.

Any Brit in the know care to comment on whether he might be running somewhere in 2014?

Thanks, Ivan. Seems like a combination of a technical issue and lack of adequate funding has caused a year's delay. Kind of normal for land speed record attempts.

Interesting list.  Should be a great event.  Sam Wheeler's PARTS UNLIMITED/EZ HOOK is not powered by a turbo Hayabusa.

Richard, I thought that Sam W. had forsaken the Kawi motors that he's used for a long time - - in exchange for a 'Busa engine.  Take a look at the build details (you'll find links on the home page of this site) and you'll be able to see what the engine is to go along with the new body and colors.

Vance & Hines; I was just reading a 1980 magazine article about them getting together to go into business together. That's already 34 years of very successful business!

My typo.....I was trying to say that IT IS POWERED BY A 1300CC HAYABUSA.  I type not instead of now.

I do know the difference as I saw the engine in pieces in Indy V&H race shop, and we shot video of Byron hines and Eddie Krawiec etc....  http://youtu.be/4q8IOtnvwA4

The BUB 7 entry is listed as "Jans, Harralson"
What happened to Denis Manning?
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

How come the turbinator 2 is not on the list

Maybe this sentence from the OP answers the question.

Denis has had it for sale, so its possible that it got sold.
