My daughter knows an American who is studying in London. His mother sent him a "4 July Celebration Kit" a few weeks ago. Apparently, she was surprised to be told we in the UK don't celebrate.

Happy 4th .....

I bought a new flag to put up In the AM

I thought it a proper and fitting B'day present for the grand old lady

According to King George III, he notes in his diary that on July 4, 1776 -

"Nothing important happened today."

What Mike said, but from Oz! There was some discussion on talk back radio here in Qld. today- the topic was "Where would we be without USA" The general concensus was (not in these words) "Up s**t creek" A few callers old enough to remember the battle of the Coral Sea, mentioned that we would probably be speaking Japanese.
                                                                                                    Best wishes from Oz, Denis

I was told that to be happy on the 4th you need to consume a 5th on the 3rd!  :-o :-D

Well, the 3rd has passed so have a happy fourth anyway!

Put out the flag when I got up, made coffee for Nancy - who's got the day off, and then had breakfast.  Today it's ride the Gold Wing, not the sport bike (the police will be out in strength and it won't be easy to avoid them - so ride sedately!) and head to town for the food festival at the lower harbor park, see everyone that is there, then watch fireworks over the old iron ore docks and go home.  Sounds like a fine day.  Be safe, one and all!

Well, things are right with the world here in AZ---we had our first Haboob on the 4th of July (came in 2 hours early) to start of our Monsoon season---lots of dust and wind, and a typical AZ 6" rain---the rain drops left spots in the dust 6" apart.  Put up the new flag to honor our Republics birthday and said the Pledge.

Will be dragging things out that we haven't had out for a few years,  canopy, ground cover, power plant, ect ect.

Thanks for the Happy B'day  wishes to OUR REPUBLIC, from our LSR brethren, long may she live!

Our 4th was on the 1st. That makes about as much sense as a lot of other stuff posted on Fridays.

All the best to all my American friends and their country.
