We saw many of these bikes at the GNRS in Pomona a few months ago and know very well how great they look when they're in showroom-spec glamor.  But there's still nothing like seeing them on the salt, even if they are a bit salty and wind-blown and exhaust streaked.  Their natural habitat is unique.

But for hoi polloi - this show on the lawn is a wonderful way for them to see the beauty of land speed racing.  Maybe some of the visitors to the show will mosey out to the salt this year to see these very same show-quality vehicles being ridden down the salt at full speed.

Such beautiful machines. What I find interesting is that the Buddfab 50cc 'liner isnt much smaller than the liners of Sam Wheeler, Ack Attack, Bub 7, etc.

Pictures are deceiving, the little liner is really little.

Eric, thank you for sharing the pics, looks like a couple of thousand miles an hour of bikes.  Sam's bike looks like it is getting older, and like most of us has grown a little around the middle  :-D

What a great day!

We tried to get as many kids into the rider's seat as possible.  Sometimes it took a few hours to get up the courage to have a seat, but no one was more happy to get in than this little sprite.  She jumped in with a huge smile and it looked like it lasted for the rest of the day!  Future speed queen, for sure!

Everybody loves the Budd 'liner!!!

Sam Wheeler, Mike Akatiff, and Rocky Robinson looking over the E-Z Hook.  Just great stuff...

...and just part of what brought all these bikes to life!  The bikes were great, but the people were the best!!!  Sam Wheeler and Dave Campos, two of the greatest.
