SpeedWeek registration cutoff is 10 May 2014
« on: May 09, 2014, 03:14:43 PM »
I got our phone call from JoAnn Carlson last evening - reminding me to let all of you know that the deadline for pre-registering for this year's SpeedWeek is tomorrow -- the 10nd of May.  Hurry, hurry, HURRY - if you haven't already got yours in the mail.  You'll save a bunch - a few hundred bucks, I think it is - by getting your registration in on time, and your chances of getting full information into the program - including the photo of your bike or car (you know - - the photo that you spent time last year with you and the crew out by yourselves way behind the course).

I don't say this with absolute knowledge for sure guaranteed, but if you're going to register right away soonly -- at least call JoAnn and tell her to please make sure your registration is accepted as being in time for the pre-reg. price.  I wouldn't email her as she gets scads of emails and yours might not get to the top of his inbox for a few days.  The SCTA office phone number is 559 528 6279.  It's on page 4 of my '13 rulebook.  Call JoAnn now -- or at least leave a phone message for her.  Or pay the big bucks and don't expect to see your vehicle in the book.

Please don't phone her!  She's got plenty of things to do with El Mirage next week and doesn't need a bunch of promises.

JUST GET IT IN THE MAIL this weekend and it'll be fine.

Dura, Stan Back is sorta JoAnn's second at the SCTA -- and is the one that looks at all of the entries that come in and then spends a few hours (each entry) trying to figure out the hen scratches that most racers feel is their legible penmanship.

Add up all of those hours and at least double them for JoAnn's part in pre-registration --- and you'll better understand why he is trying to take some of the load off the office lady.  As for me -- well, I apologise, Stan -- I should have been more careful in saying what I did.  Sorry.

I sent my check and paperwork on 4/29 and I'm a little concerned that the check hasn't been cashed yet.

Not to worry.  The office has not completely processed the entries received in the last week or so as they're working on SCTA stuff, rather than BNI.
