Paxton, Procharger style blower on vintage engine?

I know you can't run a turbo in the vintage engine classes (except streamliner), but can you run the belt driven style like Paxton, Vortec, etc. Specifically XF/BSTR

Didn't the 1930'ish Auburn Cord run a Paxton?  That was a pretty car, FWD even.  Way ahead of it's time.

Couple things here . . .

You can run a turbocharger on a Vintage engine in any category -- just as long as you belt- or gear- or chain-drive it.  It's been done.

1930ish Auburn-Cord is like saying 1930ish Cadillac-Chevrolet.  Two different makes.  A '30 Auburn could not be mistaken for a '37 Cord.  And Paxton goes back that far?  How 'bout McCullough?

Dunno, last time I had a ride in one was 20 years ago.  I know it was FWD and supercharged.  And pretty.  I think it would be more like saying a General Motors Cadillac, or Cadillac by General Motors, as both company names were tied in somehow, whereas Chevrolet was never a division of Cadillac or vice-versa.

Not much of historian, but Paxton & McCulloch are the same guy, same company, from pre-WWII days.

EDIT - A turbocharger by def is exhaust-powered (turbine powered supercharger == turbocharger).  It's compressor design is not the same as centrifugal blowers because turbos have to spin a lot more R's.  Not that I know much about turbocharging stuff.

Robert Paxton McCullough, started building superchargers for the 37 ford V8s about 5000 units.

  Google Paxton automotive.
