Yaaarrrrrrrgghhh!
« on: April 30, 2014, 06:33:14 PM »
I've been wanting to do this for 30 years.
Iv'e been planning this event for 12 months.
I've been straightening out this car that landed in my lap for 7 months.
The anticipation and nerves have been flat killing me.

now its two days from the event, I have a cold, and its raining...

*shakes fist at dog*

They moved the event from last weekend in April (when was clear, sunny though cool last weekend) looking for more favorable weather which is now flooding most of the eastern US. But- is supposed to chill down to just occasional showers Friday, maybe Sat and clear sunny and warmer Sunday. If I don't get stuck in my water soaked lawn trying to get out of here, leaving in the AM. It's gonna be a good weekend>

Weather has always been a part of the LSR challenge. If we could put all venues into a climate controlled building, 1 to 5 miles long, all would be good.

Not so fast, Jacksoni. At Cook's Shootout we need to run both directions. Let's make it 13 miles.   I mean, if you're gonna do it, do it. Wayno
By the way, I figure it's my job to be ready to run if conditions permit. Sometimes it rains. I don't take it personal.

Make it pavement and 5 miles. Run to 3 amd 2 to stop ought to cover most anything with still air and traction...

We could do it in the Ganassi coast-down tunnel (built in an abandoned PA Turnpike tunnel). Just need REALLY good brakes...
