"Bonneville/Landspeed day" at the EMMR museum
« on: April 09, 2014, 01:00:08 AM »
Hey everyone! It's kind of a last minute thing here but we are having a 'Bonneville/Landspeed racing Day" at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing, at the Latimore valley fairgrounds in York Springs Pa, this Sunday April 13th from 10-4. There will be memorabilia, displays, round table discussion, and car displays. We will have our record holder nitro powered flathead 29 roadster along with the beautiful belly tank of Andy Welker, plus Dave Grays fast corvette. We currently don't have a motorcycle to represent our land speed sport/hobby/habit. If there is anyone willing to bring one out please let us know. We are just trying to get the word out on land speed racing. And promote a great museum we have in Pennsylvania. Come on out if you can!!

(Mr. Slim please move this post if it is in the wrong spot.)

Thanks E.J. Kowalski

Rob and Brandon are about 200 miles from us.  I feel kinda guilty asking them to show up here after
traveling the entire way to California recently.

Invite them even if they don't bring the car.

They are class people.

There's a few cars already in the museum and we are loaded up to be there in the morning. Lots of memorabilia and vids. Weather looks like it will be great. Hope to see some folks out for "bonneville day" at the EMMR!!! And runt13 you can explain all the bike classes! lol.

Thanks everyone.

EJ, I agree on the bike classes.  Never ventured to that part of the rule book.

I know they use a bunch of P's. That is the extent of my knowledge.

We had a really nice day at the Museum today. The speakers were E.J. Kowalski, Andy Welker, Jim (Runt) Miller and myself (Dave Gray)
and we had three LandSpeed cars and a Bike on display. Most in attendance were racers from other forms of motorsports and with their
followup questions we had a lively discussion of our sport and race vehicles. With the good weather, good food, great motorsport museum and our roundtable discussion, I think that everyone had a fun day. Again thanks to the Speakers at the event today.

Very enjoyable Sunday with some great people. I am honored that you invited me and let me babble a bit. Once again I feel I walked away the winner, having the opportunity to sit with 3 real cool LSR guys, that I feel I can now call friends.  Great job Dave Grey, Andy Welker, and E.J. Kowalski.

The museum is awesome! I could go back 10 more times and not absorb everything there is.

just caught the ''bunch of p's comment'' LOL

I run in P/PP-1350-4, P/PP-1650-4, P/PP-2000-4, P/PP-3000-4. ''production / production pushrod''

sometimes in M/PG, someday M/PF

now I got to ''P''

Definitely agree about having a really good day with great people.  Always fun talking to new people, was good to meet Runt and see his bike. Hopefully will see you again either when I get to ohio or you to the salt.

Maybe next time I can learn more about the  P's
