I've been too busy to keep up with this - 50 different reasons why.
I'd like to thank those who offered help with the pics. I hope I can thank you all in person in a few weeks.
Well, the bike's been in Gresham, Oregon for three weeks. Arlen Lehman at LED Performance has been doing all the 2stroke mods (you know, dipping parts in toad blood, swinging chickens around, stirring cauldrons, incantations and all that other voodo/ black magic crap that 2stroke guys do) and the results sound pretty good. After multiple heat cycles and a problem with the fuel supply he called and said it ran past 120mph no problem. I know that only the salt will tell and there will be lot's more tuning and jet changing yet to come, but after hundreds of nights in the garage, it's sure encouraging. At least my gear ratios are about right. If not, I've managed to track down a whole stack of sprockets.
I'm planning to run at one of the "test & tune" sessions at the local drag strip at the end of the month. I've owned a lot of bikes but this is the first one that I've felt I need to learn to ride. The power band is high and the CCs are low so launching is going to take some experimenting.
Only a few hundred things left to do.
