Looks like a good start. A lot of good advice here and some good humor if you keep the right frame of mind. Not sure what your plans are. The Firebird is a good platform but you will use up the usable space real fast. Be sure to allow for some ballast attachments on the four corners, low and towards the center is best. That way when you scale the car you can get it balanced good so you can adjust it drive a little better. It looks like it may have been a race car in another life but over hear weight is our friend so toss some billet and add some iron!
Take a look at Daryl's build over at Breaking Wind build thread. Chris Coffee is an awesome fabricator and is building a similar platform. Lots to learn by studying some similar builds.
