Hotel Recommendations with Trailer-Friendly Parking?
« on: April 02, 2014, 02:22:56 PM »
I'm looking to book room(s) for the June meet.  Thinking of the Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express, unless someone strongly recommends something else.

Can anyone comment on the availability of trailer-friendly parking?  (Just a regular 3/4 ton pickup truck and 24 foot trailer, not a semi or anything like that).

Thanks,

Steve.

Steve,
You can go wrong with both of those hotels. They allow you to pull on the grass between them...only if it's dry enough!!! They also have offered tent camping behind the Hampton...FREE!!! We couldn't have found a town with friendlier people!

Excellent news, Joe.  I have spent a fair amount of time in Dayton and Cincinnati over the years, and have always felt good, honest Midwestern  hospitality.

I love to stop at Skyline Chili, but I'm also open for suggestions for other authentic Cincy-style chili places.

Steve, Holiday Inn Express has been my home away from home in Wilmington. Excellent place to stay!
Sorry, never stayed at the Hampton Inn.
As for truck and trailer parking, on street parking should not be a problem.
Here is Calvin Smith's rig in front of the HIE last June:

See you there in June!

We've stayed at both,  great folks at both. They seem to love when the ECTA is in town.

best kept secret, Cowan lake campground. cabins / tent sites, clean showers.

there is a boat launching area with parking spots, that may be an option.

we tent camp, [20] a nite

the cabins are around 100 a nite

just my 2 cents
who would have guessed it would take so long to go so fast for such a short time?

A bunch of us stay at the Wilmington Inn but it may be booked by now.  General Denver Inn downtown has real good chili too.
