It's been a while since any of us here talked about the two organisations I've put in the header.  Both are pretty quiet - until they're needed, and at that time they are wonderful for helping racers, crews, and families get a bit more settled after a crash or injury.

They run on donations only -- and give money to those directly affected by the injury or crash.  It's not enough to buy you a new grandfather or a new car/bike, but it's enough to help with lots of the expenses that crop up after such an incident.  Whether it's for a motel near the hospital or helping ship the personal stuff home (stuff that won't fit in the emergency airplane, for instance) it's still good - and, if you're a recipient, it will likely bring tears to your eyes knowing that so many people care about you.

Therefore, as we're about to start another racing season -- please take some of your time and a few $$ to support the two groups.  The EMLA is found here:

and the UMF is here:

For our sake - for YOUR sake -- please contribute something to these groups.  It'll not only help -- it'll make you feel ever more a part of the land speed racing family.

By an auction of a foto the Bonneville NW Reunion contributed $350 to EMLA this year.

It was evident by the bidding that the audience knew and respected them.
