Goodyear 450mph Tyres - Quick Survey
« on: March 28, 2014, 06:31:37 AM »
Out of interest which projects are using the Goodyear 450 Tyres (tires!)? Sam Wheeler's Parts Unlimited/EZ Hook streamliner, Ron Main's Speed Demon and the Castrol Rocket spring to mind, any others that might be running at the Cook Shootout in particular?

Cheers,
Phil

Max,

The current declared UK rider for the shootout is just one - Richard Brown and jet reaction - the pure thrust contender. There will be a years delay before James Toseland rides his 52 Express' gas turbine streamliner according to the team.  No firm news from Gabriel Uttley, but there is no word on testing the Angelic Bulldog in the UK as yet.

There could be as many as 15 bikes from the UK at Speedweek and / or BUB; a range of sit-on rides of all ages (I do not have details).

Thanks for the reply. Malcolm is correct with the only likely entrant at the Shootout Jet Reaction - www.jetreaction.net.

Thanks for all responses so far.

Further to my initial enquiry if there are any other teams that would be interested in sharing the cost of insurance relating to the running of the Goodyear 450mph tyres at Bonneville with Richard Brown in the UK, who has the Jet Reaction two wheeled project, they are very welcome to get in touch.

Best wishes,
Phil

Speed Week....Over here in the UK, we've just booked a 40ft container & ten teams are confirmed, with three more "pending". On top of that Patric the French Owl is shipping his blown flathead Harley seperately & no doubt there will be the odd team who don't know about us. There might still be room in the container, contact me at editor@britchopper.co.uk We deliver the bikes to the shipping agents on 28th of May. I'm bringing my new, untested, blown Indian Scout. Save us 100 yards in the pits, please.
Don't push me, I'm close to the edge.

Got it.  It's in the back (known as the scenic mountain) row, right at the four.

Desperate, what am I missing with your shifter?  Why does it look like it's mounted upside down?  Or do the toes on your left foot originate out the back of your heel? :?

Hard to see on the picture there John, but I think it has a toe and a heel peg on the shifter.

Probably can go down with the toe and back with the heal without having to hook boot under front toe peg!

Nice bike!
