Question for Joe or Keith
« on: March 15, 2014, 07:04:38 AM »
I read this just a few minutes ago:

I heard a rumor that the ECTA is looking for new blood to take over and run the Ohio mile.

Bob Steele made that comment yesterday in post #23 of this thread:

http://www.landracing.com/forum/index.php/topic,13299.15.html

Any truth to this?

Inquiring minds would like to know!

Why don't you just ask them instead of inciting possible panic? It seems that both are rather approachable.

PJ,

The intent of my original post was certainly not meant to cause panic!
I simply posted it out of concern for ALL ECTA members.

Guys there shouldn't be any panic to this at all...  As with any organization or business the ECTA is reaching a point that it's primary care givers are looking into exit strategies.    We're not having a fight... we're not Bailing out..... we're simply looking at ways to manage a transition over the course of the next 4 yrs....   ( See... nothing fast here... we're just changing )

This has been the best partnership in the world... everyone of us love each other...   and the ECTA...   it's just time to start sorting out how it survives us.

To me it doesn't seem to be a rumor when Keith answers the way he did.

Keith:

Thanks, it is always best to hear things from someone who knows. We can all go back to working on our cars and bikes now.

All good organizations develop a succession plan at some time in their evolution.

Thanks again,

Sorry guys, didn't mean to start a run on the bank... it was something I heard, every organization needs new blood now and then.  It was a passing comment on a thread that a guy thought someone must be getting rich doing this, to the contrary, I'm sure these guys barely pay expenses, they do it because they want to and enjoy it.
So everyone back on their heads...

Not a problem Stainless,   we've been sorting it out for a while and as soon as our plans are better laid out we'll be sure to share them.

Stainless, you might want to explain that "Okay, everybody.  Back on your heads" to the youngsters on this Forum.

You're partly right -- Stainless spelled "Old Farts".  But then -- he's so much older than you that he's had time to learn lots of extra tricks.  Give your dog a bone.
