Disneyland/ Gas MPG from So cal to Utah Question
« on: February 11, 2014, 11:31:04 PM »
Hey Guys,

I am in need of some help.

My wife, kids and myself are going to Disney land in June.

We are looking at purchasing the city pass for the various parks. We are really only going to attend Disney land, and Sea world, but its cheaper to do City pass than to buy other passes, does that make sense?

Is there better deals than this?

Also, we are thinking of pulling our 24ft Campt trailer down and back. What kind of MPG did you get from So cal to here, and then going back down?
How much did you spend in fuel?

My truck is a 2003 Chev one-ton dually 6.0 gas eng.

I have done the mpg calculator, but that does not account for mountain passes, wind, etc.

TIA
Clay

Clay, look at timeshares... you may have to sit through a 2 hour "you should buy this to save money" spiel, but they will usually give you 2 or 3 nights and passes to a park with reduced prices to other attractions for $99 to $199.
Good luck and have fun

SoCal residents get a pretty decent discount on Disneyland tickets. You have to show your ID when you buy. Tony

I have a 6-liter gas 5-speed Chevy pickup and get 11-12 MPG average from SoCal to Utah towing a 6000-lb. (total) car trailer.  18 MPG without towing.  You might do the math and see if leaving the trailer might be an option.  Easier trip, lots less gas.

Wrong side of town, but Motel 6 was less than $50 a night in Pomona.

Maybe something like that a little closer to where you need to be?

We stay at a RV park just north of Disney land, good rates with full hook ups. Figure on about 12 MPG, don't forget the 55 MPH speeds in Calif. The RV park is paved and places to eat in walking distance or short drive. We go to Mimi's most of the time. The RV park is Anaheim Harbor RV.Phone is 714-535-6495. We almost always stay there as it's, close and great rates.  Ball road and Harbor Blvd.
