SCTA vehicle numbers -- vs. LTA numbers
« on: February 11, 2014, 07:20:32 PM »
What's this I hear about the Loring Timing Ass'n not reporting the numbers used by racers up there - to Chuck Kalbach?  That is -- if you have a number that you got from Chuck - or anyone at the SCTA - and continue to use it but at Loring and not at Bville -- since it isn't reported back to Chuck he assumes that, when the three or whatever years have passed without that number being used at SCTA events - your number goes back into the inventory of available numbers.

In other words - if you want to be sure that your SCTA number stays your number, and if you've only been going to Loring for the past while - you might well contact Chuck Kalbach to let him know you want to keep yours and that you are using it.  Chuck:  kalbach@snowline.net

Best wishes from #436.  I didn't race that number for four or five years ('til 2013) but did let him know each year that I wanted to keep it.  It worked fine for me.  Check it out for yourself. :-D :-o

Chuck sends out a list of unused and older numbers each year, I believe it's also posted on the SCTA web site.

Chuck's a good egg, and takes this seriously.  I think he typically sends out a reminder notice around early April.

Here's a link to the list -

Some numbers should be retired, IMO, such as 219.
