The passing of Gil Ruiz
« on: January 31, 2014, 02:50:53 PM »
Marlo Treit called and said that Gil Ruiz has passed on.

This makes it so much more important that we told about meeting Gil at

El Mirage and showing him his car that he had not seen for a long time.

Our condolences go to his wife Dorothy and to Gil......RIP.

Freud,

Sorry to hear of Gil's passing. What Marlo and the Target 550 team did for Gil I will never forget. Gil's face said it all when he saw and heard his Roadster. Glad I could be there to witness the event first hand.

Godspeed and RIP Gil.

Gil became a member of the Bonneville 200 MPH Club in 1970 at a speed of 212+.

The Club extends their prayers to Gil's family and friends. I am blessed that I was at El Mirage last November to witness the roadster reveal to Gil. Many thanks to Marlo and the Target 550 crew for the kindness.

Joanie and I will keep Gil in our prayers.
