I can't believe more teams haven't entered this event!  :?

If it helps: Potter Bros Racing can provide secure storage between the test and tune and Speedweek for at least 10 trailers and/or rigs up to 18-wheeler-size behind our place In South Jordan Utah, about 15 minutes from the Salt Lake International Airport.

If the salt is ready the Target 550 team will be there.

We have waited a long time for this opportunity

but are patient enough to wait even longer if needed.

The USFRA has had some inquiries about the July Test and Tune, specifically in relation to the 130/150 mph club vehicles.  Any vehicle
that meets the classifations of SCTA/BNI as outlined in the rule book are eligible.  Even if the target speeds are below 150 mph.  The vehicles that are not being invited to participate are those that are classified to run in the 130/150 mph club, as outlined on the USFRA website.
Is that much more better explained now?

How 'bout  . . .

Any SCTA-legal vehicle, no matter how fast or slow, is invited.

We have had interest from a couple of motorcycle streamliners in coming to the July event.  We have made arrangements
to accomodate these bikes and have a BUB/AMA inspector on site.  Some of these vehicles will not meet the SCTA/BNI
safety requirements but do meet the BUB/AMA requirements, so if you fit into that catagory please feel welcome to show up
and test your machine.
See you in July.

Hey Monte, can you give us an update on number of entrants?
Are we getting any closer to the magic number?

We are at 27 entries so far. Ellen sent me a list of those that have signed up so far.  I will post it when I get home tonight.

And what's the minimum that you need?  Not that I'm in a position to visit for the event, but do you have any way of making the event happen if you don't get to your magic number? I mean something like "We'll see if those that have signed up are interested in sending in a few bucks extra (each) to make sure the event comes off as planned" or "Well, we could go without spending the money for the surveyors and just use a yardstick to measure off the distances" or "Instead of having an ambulance standing by we'll buy some new band aids and a fresh bottle of mecurochrome".

I'll hope those last ones aren't your choices, but - is there some way to get the event to go even if the required 50 don't sign up?

Jon, since this is just a test and tune all we are doing for timing is a 132' trap. We will just measure that off using a tape.  We have discussed the possibility of adjusting the entry fee if we do not get the full 50.  The plan is to do everything we can to make this happen and will look at all available ways.

Good to see some streamliners on the list for 3 mile test runs. A couple of new cars too.
