I kinda wondered if Wayno had finally seen the light and made at least part of the switch - claiming that his tanker was modified partial streamliner and runs gas.  I now it's got pushrods. . .  If you're coming on over to join the fun, Wayne -- welcome.   And if you're not changing -- well, oh, well. :?

Slim , Flat heads don,t have push rods just tappits, valves in the block.

Okay.  I'll stick with engines I know about.  Sorry to be ignorant of the old fashioned way of opening valves.

Wow-o-man, it's going to be quite an event, isn't it?  Even though it's a short track, and even though no records will be set (well, yes there will be - the fastest for that particular vehicle on the sort track at the T&T), it's still going to be one heck of a show.  I sure hope the rest of you that are anywhere nearby can attend and tell me and us what's going on.  I know that Pork Pie plans to be there -- but Nancy and I just can't see our way to heading out here.  if we had more money and fewer responsibilities, maybe, but since that ain't the case -- well, everyone, keep in touch with us and I'll put whatever you send tome on the Forum and website.

Man, what a show it's going to be.  I guess the only saving grace for me is that I won't have to be downwind from Tom Liberatore's olives and pepperoni.
You probably wouldn't like being downwind from someone who has eaten one of my pickled eggs either!

I didn't think Wayno would need the training wheels.

Rex:
Regarding weather; I checked the intellicast archives the day after the rain moved through.
Ogden got 2" and Saltville about 1/2,
The storm moved from N/W to S/E, and totally missed Wendover.

http://www.intellicast.com/Local/Observation.aspx?location=USUT0270
This is a little better; all You need to do is search "Wendover weather, archives or past history", and this sort of stuff is listed.

Enjoy! :-D

I'll have an update, complete with photos, after Nancy and I eat supper.  We're having fresh lake trout tonight.  The Save the Salt Coalition managed to get about 2,000 tons of salt moved from Intrepid (mining company in Wendover) to the salt flats.  I'll give you details a bit later tonight.

Look for it in the "Bonneville General Chat" topic.

Rex and Jon, Gary Wilkinson and hopefully myself will be going out on July 4th to get some early work done.
Gary wants to check the modifications he made to the line spraying equipment.  Also some dirtbags  broke
into the timing trailer we use for the 130 course.  Some repairs to be made there.  Will post info on salt
conditions while we are there.

We had a club officers meeting last night.  Jim Burkdoll said he is going out to the salt this Saturday to
check track conditions.  I will post an update as soon as I hear from him.
Just a reminder that Rick Gold from ERC will be there for the Test and Tune and will have fuel and sundries
available.
We are really looking forward to this event and are excited to see all our long time friends, and make some
new ones with all the new cars that are coming out.

Here's an up to the minute update as far as the alledged rain might have occurred in Wendover.
One of the local TV weather turkeys was making big noise about rain and 52MPH wind; looks like they may have used the relative humidity, which got to 52% max.
We had rain here in Saltville around 1700 hrs for 20-30 minutes, and the radar out West was ugly; but who you gonna believe?

Just received a phone call from Jim Burkdoll, he is currently on the salt and reports very good conditions.
Because of the recent rain storms, the number one and two tracks are a little damp but no standing
water. We will be having nice weather for the next several days.  Today is beautiful sunshine and 82
degrees.
Everything is still a go for the Test and Tune!!
