Holiday?  Well, in a way, I guess.  Nancy's Facebook says that today is Stainless' birthday.  Really?  And which today -- 31th or 1nd?  Whatever, if so -- happy birthday, Robert, and many happy returns of the day.

According to the calendar on this website Stainless has the same birth date as you.

Yeah - after hitting the sack last night -- after typing that post -- I got to thinking "Wait a minnit!  Isn't Stainless' birthday on the same date as me?"

Thanks for setting us all straight, Tom.  Happy New Year. :-D

Started reading the unreads this morning and all the sudden thought I overslept by a couple of months... checked the dates and noted that I still had plenty of time to work on the lakester.
Yep Slim, we share the same birthday....

Stainless, your parents must have owed lots of people money when you were born.  At least that's the story mine told me about how they decided on my middle name.  It seems that they, being newlyweds in the late 40's and Dad fresh out of the Army, owed Dad's Uncle Eric Andreason some money, and by getting his name in on the new baby's birth certificate Uncle Eric cut them some slack.

Well, it's a good story, and all three (Mom, Dad, and Eric) are dead now, so who's to deny that it's true?

Two and a half months 'til our birthday anniversary, hey?  I'll wait patiently this time.

I thought I remembered both of you celebrating your Birthday the same day. So I looked it up and bingo.  :-D
Happy New Year to you also.

The plan was Robert William.... names of grandfathers... but when my dad reported the birth of a boy to the   gathering at my moms parents. My grandfather, William Purdy Sharpe (immigrated from Ireland), was quite offended and said "the boy was born on St Patricks Day and you didn't name him Patrick?"  So back to the hospital, the certificate of live birth was already done... back into the typewriter and Patrick was added.... quite noticeably at a little angle and looks to me a different typewriter.
So JEW, that's how I became RWPS

And as I grew up my initials became the butt of jokes and even calls to the principal's office.  When my daughter was born we went through a number of names and their arrangement to make sure they didn't spell anything.  My mother, for instance, grew up as "PP" (Pearl Parren).  Gotta watch out for that stuff.

I keep telling her that if she any common sense she'd do just that, but - who knows what's going on in her - - - her mind.
