Help me understand...

A day ago I saw that the "We lost our status" thread was locked. But now there's an additional post been made to it. How?

I don't know, and Bob doesn't know, who locked the thread -- so I've just unlocked it.  I'll be quiet now - and then go figure.

Wake up grumpy today Jack.... I just looked at the thread in question and it of course already diverged into another subject thanks to Jon... but you had not posted anything... no... I was not the locker.

Since the subject has been broached -- who among us remembers the particulars of the stars/ratings system that Jon A. instituted a handful of years ago?  If you do remember -- howsabout sharing the story.  Maybe there's some value to it and I/we just don't understand.

Jon, it was all part of the Simple Machines Data Base that the forum was based on if I remember correctly... the levels were all based on the number of posts someone had written.  In other forums the levels have been used to restrict private messages and for sale boards to keep spammers and folks that might join to defraud other members at bay.  The levels and what they are called are all set by administrators...
Just my guess.... your mileage may vary
