Hayabusa Engine Question For Car Guys
« on: November 30, 2013, 12:08:53 PM »
When running the Suzuki GSX1300R (Hayabusa) engine in a car (like a roadster) with a driveshaft adapter can the engine be rotated so the cylinders are vertical instead of inclined as in the motorcycle?
I know it will run just fine but I was wondering about the engine and transmission oiling systems in this orientation..  :?

The oil pan is part of your issue... and the pickup... and the drains from the transmission area when you rotate the motor that far.
Custom oil pan and pickup, scavenge drain in the back of the tranny would be needed.  But why do you need them straight up? Space?
As far as I know, no one but the bikers have ever run them straight up, and they don't leave them in that position very long...  :|

guess I type slower than Rick... hey wait a minute... he even does it with less fingers...  :-D

How about any handy ways to adapt a Hayabusa drivetrain to a front-wheel-drive vehicle?

It doesn't cost anything to dream.

Steve

You might look over this build and see if there is anything you can use.

Bill:

Thanks for the refresher regarding that link.  I knew I had seen it before, but couldn't find it.
