Weaver oil pump.
« on: November 14, 2013, 12:10:45 AM »
I'll be using a Weaver 5 stage oil pump on my motor. I don't have pulleys for the setup yet.

We should be running at 8000RPM max (on paper!).

Does anyone have info on what pulley ratio I should run?.

Buying the wrong parts could create all sorts of problems and returns from this side of the planet don't work that great.

Thanks all.

Depending on the type of engine most systems run between 50-60% of engine speed with a max pump speed in the 5000 rpm neighborhood.
A 28 or 32 tooth pulley is normally used on the pump with the crank gear as required.

mike i called weaver brothers and talked to yvette weaver and she says the pullys that you should use are 18-32 which will give you a ratio of 56%. the 18 tooth pulley is $36.15 and the pump pulley is $79.64
yvette says if you have any questions you can e-mail her at oilpumps@yahoo.com or if you want to call them there number is (775) 883-7677. hope this helps.

Hey Michael, Thanks for doing that. I haven't been able to reach Weaver via email. This info definitely helps.
