Very cool!  It looks to me like 200mph would be within grasp with a little better aerodynamics.

Talk about building an all purpose car! That thing is way cool!

My old cardboard Isky Dream Wheel says, if they're 28s --they look bigger, 195 MPH is only 5150 RPM.

At 8000, it's almost 300.

Maybe could use a different gear?

I have seen that thing run a few times. I don't understand T/O, why not make it a lakester or something that fits a class?

I understand T.O.  Didn't used to.

A lot of guys just want to see how fast their car will go.  He's had it a hundred years and is attached to it.  E/BGL is 299.  He's got the gearing right, but I don't see the Pontiac competing with Seth Hammond.

Nice article. I saw the car in passing a couple of times at SW but didnt have the chance to stop and look at it. If I make it up there next year Ill definitely make it a point to stop a take a closer look at it.

This was not built to be a salt car. It started life as a sand dragger, and evolved into an asphalt drag car. It is bad ass fast at the strip and will go 200mph on the salt. Yes it doesn't fit a class as configured, thats why its a T/O car at this point. Lets just say he has been testing. He has plans. Stay tuned. See you at Speed 2014 Week!

It's been a long time since I have seen a CAE (Jim Cobert)  quick change, super strong. Jim was a lakes racer and built sprint cars and parts, I had one of his front axles on one of my cars.

mitchell968 Thanks for posting those pictures. I was in Rogers shop on Dec. 30th. He has another engine back in it ready for some shake down runs at the strip. There are some other plans in the works, mainly with the engine. We will see how it works out in 7 months?
