Hey folks,

Selling a pair of 18" Firestone Monza's, very nice side walls and plenty of meat on contact surfaces.  I keep them stored in a dry, room temp garage.
Tom Evans (MC Tech) ran these wheels (wheels and tires) on his roadster awhile back.

Asking $1000.00 OBO for the package.

Pictures will be posted shortly.

The tires are rated up to 300mph and I believe these particular tires are from the 1960's.

As I understand it, all of the Indy, Bonneville and Monza Firestones came from the same molds but received different treads based on their intended market.  The ply of these tires is quite high, perhaps 16 or more?  Someone here might be able to chime in on tire technicalities but they should pass current tech standards.

I don't think the tires are actually rated to 300. That being said, Al ran 308 on shaved Stones on his lakester in 81.

Life is an abrasive. Whether you get ground away or polished to a shine depends on what you are made of.

Thanks for the link Ron, good reading and informative.
For high speed runs the tread should definitely come off,  I know Tom E. was close to 200 with these tires driving a blown fuel flathead in and around 2000-2003 I believe.

I am sure that lots of people, maybe everybody ran them before MT got into LSR. I went over 200 with the 33 inch Indy tires on my car. That was pretty slow compared to others i have seen. But mine are very similar wheels and all and I tried to sell them a few months ago. No bites. Good luck with yours. If yours sell maybe I'll try mine again.
