I'm only authorized to speak for myself, but I like to think
that many others are with me on this.

Many thanks to Mike Cook and everyone else that worked so hard
to setup the 2013 Mike Cook's Bonneville Shootout.  It was a lot
of work, and the rain that occurred immediately before September's
scheduled Shootout (and October's re-scheduled "rain date" Shootout)
threw a major wrench into the works.  I drove 600 miles from
California to watch the Shootout in September, and again in
October, only to see no racing due to a wet course.

We can't control the weather.  I hope we all have better luck
next year.

Hats off to Mike and everyone else involved in preparing this
event!  Thank you, people!

It is difficult to comprehend how much work the Mike Cook crew did in

an attempt to have a successful Shoot Out. One think that we knew as

the delays piled up was that this event was in the control of a racer.

Mike had a lot invested in the preparation but that had no influence at

all when it came to making the decision regarding the safety of the

people that planned to run. As the Treit and Davenport streamliner sat

ready to roll into the trailer we knew that we would not be going on

blind luck. If the track was not what he promised there would be no meet.

Any person that planned to run had nothing to be concerned about. If

Mike said it wasn't adequate he meant it and we could trust his judgement.

Trust in Mike is not blind trust. It is based on the decision the would make

if he was the person running. You can take that to the bank

We are fortunate to have him and his crew conducting this World Class event.

One thing about it......if you weren't ready to run when the final decision

was made it wasn't because you didn't have time.

We will be there when the next Shoot Out goes off.
