He taught me stuff. He could write and when he said "get" it encompassed everything about this game. I met he and Sammy and recorded him for two hours telling stories at Everest ave in San Diego.

He was the full man. We are poorer without him.

Godspeed Jack.

I met Jack while both of us were with Don Vesco. Don trusted him and Jack had responsibilities regarding Don's bikes.

He had a lot of experience and readily helped most anyone that asked him.

He was dedicated to young people and created programs under which they could race.

Good Guy. Big Loss.

Love Ya, JACK. Condolences to his family.

Jack's passing is a great loss to our LSR sport.  Back in 1978 when we first brought our sidecars to Bonneville, Jack was the man in charge of the M/C classes and he made us feel welcome and really supported our efforts. In those days any of the "open" classes had a minimum, Jack looked at our Turbo/Kawa sidecar and set the minimum at 140mph.....we ran 142mph. off the trailer.
Jack fully understood what landspeed racing was all about, during the time that he was in charge of SCTA/BNI M/C's there were very little problems........he ran a tight ship but was always fair in his decisions.

God Speed, Jack

Nancy and I met Jack at the NW Reunion a handful of years ago.  I knew him pretty well from this Forum -- his many comments were, to some, cruel, but deeper down they were on target and very worthwhile.  But all that still didn't put a person to the name -- just a "reputation" for being a witty smart-butt.

Then, at the Reunion -- there he was, hanging around with, of all people, Bob Drury.  What a pair they made.  Someplace around here I've got a photo of them and Nancy.  It is - mmm, unh -- interesting.  I hope I can find it so the rest of you have the opportunity to see just who this guy is/was.

In the meantime -- rest in peace, Jack.  We're poorer without you - but at least we've still got the memories.

Meeting Jack Dolan was on my list of things to do. I'm pretty sure we were separated at birth.
We communicated over the years, never quite got around to meeting.

Last year there was a post about the top posters by numbers.
Bob Drury wrote this:
Quote
Senator, err I mean Stainless, I know Jack Dolan and YOU ARE NO JACK DOLAN!
Seriously, I hope Jack is doing better and I been meaning to call him.
Jack (for you newbies) was for many years a poster on this site, and though most all of us were either in disagreement or offended by many of his posts, most all of the 4500+ posts were humorous, intellegent, to the point, and made you think (if you were not to mad to post).
I found Jack to be WAY more intellegent and thoughtful than most of his peers and when you cut to the chase and found out his devotion to familly, especially grandkid's, and learned how many racers he has helped through the years, you or at least I couldn't help but like the guy.
I hope his health improves to the point that he starts posting again and giving us all hell when we need it.
Stan is the closest we currently have to Jack, and he is but a mere imposter (sorry, Stan) to the KING OF POSTERS on this site.  Ladies and Gentlemen, I honor the Great Jack Dolan, who ain't affraid to tell any and all what he thinks which is not common on this or any other forum.
                                                                            Bob
I wrote this in response:

Looking at the list I realize that I really miss Jack's postings. Sometimes a real son-of-a-bitch, but brilliant otherwise. I learned a LOT from him.

Bob had this idea for a plaque. What ever happened to that?

               Thank's Jack

Jack is at the top of the list for a true racer. Somebody should make a movie.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.
