I am build a couple of spoilers for my CGALT Camaro. In the future I would like to try them in the wind tunnel but that's a story for another day.

My question is:

Pg. 48 spoiler design implementation approach one drawing figure 9. I understand all dimensions in the drawing except the lower right has a dimension "6 Max."

I read the spill plates cannot be longer above or below the edge of the 1" mounting tab than 8". What does the 6" Max refer to?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

BR

Looks like it's 6" max in heigh difference between the bottom/beginning of the spoiler surface and the top/trailing edge.

Java Joe:

That's what it looks like. In that case it would require far more spoiler angle to get to 6" than I will ever run.

Thanks,

BR

The drawing has a misprint. The arrows go from the top of the spill plates to the bottom. Spill plate can be a max. of 8" above and 8" below the chord when laid flat. Total spill plate height can be 16" max., 8"+8"=16".

If that is the case then I am fine. I would have to put 20 degree or more of spoiler angle to max at 6".

Just wanted to make sure.

Thanks, for the feed back.
