The truck stop is called R-Place. On the east side of the Nugget the phone # is (435) 665-7851.  You can call and see how to get an RV space.

This year they were offering 5 day packages and I think last year all I could get were 6 day packages.  The rates are insulting though for a regular $49/night room.

Something weird are the two King bed rooms with a Jacuzzi in the room.  What does everyone else do while someone is using the Jacuzzi?  Obviously marketing towards a different group than racers, when they designed that room.

Managed to grab a room at the Montego Bay, now I can focus on getting ready for the upcoming racing season.

After some of the cautionary tales about room prices during SpeedWeek, I was actually a bit relieved to see that my average cost per night was "only" going to be about $200.  It's just reality that hotel/motel rooms at any location will be higher when there are big events in town.  It doesn't seem like Wendover is a hot destination spot any time other than when there's an event on the salt flats.

I get what you are saying about the Jacuzzi-equipped rooms.  I certainly don't want to Jacuzzi with any of the ugly, hairy bunch that I'll be travelling with (myself included).

Are the rooms you are getting online paid up front, non-refundable?

Oops. Just saw the answer to that on the 2013 thread. Sorry.

1s it really legal for hotels to not refund your payment after 24 hr cancelation?

Is it even legal to charge your card before arrival?

What exactly are the laws?  I would certainly dispute the charge with the charge card company.

When you book your room, you have to agree to their refund policy. Is it legal? Probably not. Do we have a choice? Probably not!

Not much luck searching the internet but did find that several states required motels to post their highest and lowest rates in the rooms and not charge more than the highest. Didn't list which states.

Bville racers may not gamble [ Linda does :-D] but their no refund policy turns them into gamblers and a sure bet for them.

As some others have noted, not all credit card companies are created equal. :-D
